Upon arrival in Paro today you are welcomed by your guide and transferred to Thimphu (1.5 hours) at 7600 ft
(2320 m). Depending on your arrival time, you'll have the opportunity to visit the great Tashichho Dzong,
Memorial Chorten, and the Giant Buddha statue, from where you'll enjoy stunning valley views as the sun sets
in the valley. If your flight arrives later in the day, there will be plenty of time to see these sights
tomorrow instead.

Dedicated to connecting people to the Bhutanese rural past though exhibition of artefacts used in rural
households.
Textile Museum-
Witnesses the art of traditional weaving.
Thimphu Dzong-
The largest Dzong, is also the seat of the office of the King of Bhutan.
Paper making factory -
Witnesses the art of paper making.
Simtokha Dzong -
Five miles from Thimphu, on a lofty ridge, stands Semtokha Dzong the oldest fortress in the Kingdom.
Centenary Farmers’ Market -
Every Saturday and Sunday most of the Thimphu population congregate on the banks of the river where the
weekend market is held. Here villagers from the valley and other nearby places come to sell their
agriculture products.

Dochula Pass- the 108 chortens was built by the present Queen Mother of Bhutan AshiDorjiWangmoWangchuck to
commemorate Bhutan’s victory over indian militants and to liberate the souls of the souls lost.
Punakha Dzong- Built in 1637, the dzong continues to be the winter home for the clergy, headed by the Chief
Abbott, the Je Khenpo. It is a stunning example of Bhutanese architecture, sitting at the fork of two
rivers, portraying the image of a medieval city from a distance. The dzong was destroyed by fire and glacial
floods over the years but has been carefully restored and is, today, a fine example of Bhutanese
craftsmanship.

Overnight in Punakha.
Morning we will visit beautiful nunnery built on the hilltop of Walakha, join the nuns for morning prayer
and later on drive further north of Punakha to visit one of the beautiful Stupa or Temple built on ridge
near the Punakha River known as KhamsumYuelleyNamgyel Chorten which will take around 30 minutes to reach
from the town. It was built in honor for then Crown Prince Jigme KheserNamgyel Wangchuk which was built in
the 1990s and took a period of nearly 10 years.
From the parking, it will take another 45 minutes uphill hike to reach crossing through the rice suspension
bridge and rice field and the return portion downhill takes around 30 minutes.
Then drive to Wangdiphodrang visiting Dzong and local market. The district of Wangdiphodrang is also famous
for its bamboo products, slate and stone carvings.

After breakfast drive to Paro. En-route visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress of the Kingdom built in
1627, it now houses the School for Buddhist studies.
